Acerca de Barbara Mayer
Barbara Mayer is a Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with the CMG Structural Heart Team. She has extensive experience caring for patients with cardiovascular disease, and a passion for cardiovascular health, and patient education. After graduating from the University of Arizona College of Nursing with honors in 1999, she dedicated her entire nursing career to taking care of patients with cardiovascular disease. This includes spending almost 18 years taking care of patients in the cardiac catheterization lab while they were undergoing heart procedures such as TAVR, MitraClip, coronary stenting, ASD, and PFO closures. Her nursing experience includes six years of working in the cardiology clinic and assisting with cardiac stress testing. Before joining Carondelet, Barbara spent most of her career at Banner University Hospital, spending her last three years there as a nurse practitioner on the cardiology team taking care of hospitalized patients with all types of cardiac problems. She obtained her Cardiac Vascular nursing certification, is a member of the American College of Cardiology and has traveled to numerous cardiology conferences around the country. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and her favorite forms of exercise are walking and yoga.
