A graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Dr. Anderson is board-certified in both Neurology and Vascular Neurology. He completed his Neurology Residency as well as a Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease Fellowship at the University of Arizona. Prior to joining Carondelet Neurological Institute, Dr. Anderson held an appointment as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology at the University of Arizona, where he was a Co-Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Team and a neurosonologist in the Vascular Lab. He has been a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator in numerous clinical research trials involving both the acute treatment and prevention of stroke. Dr. Anderson has been board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2000, and recently was recertified in 2010. He received his Vascular Neurology board certification in 2009. He is a professional member of both the American Academy of Neurology and the American Stroke Association. He remains active as a neurosonologist interpreting transcranial Doppler studies at the Carondelet Neurological Institute where he is also the Director of Vascular Neurology. He is a member of the Brain Attack Team helping lead the Carondelet Neurological Institute in obtaining Primary Stroke Center certification/recertification as well as providing telestroke coverage to Southern Arizona. He practices both vascular and general neurology.

Dr Anderson is easy to speak to and has a calming presence. I was becoming anxious because of the delay. I had a stroke and the anxiety is a result of it. I was very impressed by this doctor. He was so patient, didn't rush to get to the next patient, and listened carefully to my situation. I really felt like he cared and was interested in helping. He showed me the test results and explained what we were looking at very clearly. He made a followup plan for further testing to rule out all possible maladies. This really showed me that he truly wanted to rule out all possible causes of my event, before dismissing it as a one of. I highly recommend this wonderful physician and wish that others in the medical field could be as compassionate to their fellow humans.

I was Imp Press with Dr. Anderson and his staff, in particular, his medical secretary, Ann. She responded quickly to all phone calls I made to her, questions I had of her, and in general, she was extremely helpful and delightful. Also, because I was in Tucson from out of town, Dr. Anderson went out of his way to get me an MRI that day so I didn't have to try to get in here at home with delays. He also called me the next morning with the results and offered to contact a Neuro ophthalmologist about my situation, what could I possibly ask?
